Shibari (and kinbaku) is a type of rope bondage. Rope bondage may include erotic elements, emphasize the creation of aesthetic ties, have a meditative focus, involve painplay, or be something completely different. Just what you want it to be! Turku peer rope organizes shibari events, where participants can learn from each other, and workshops, where experienced practicioners teach different techniques, patterns, and other essential skills.

Peer Rope
Friday January 16 at 18:00: Peer Rope: Newcomers' Night
We welcome you to try shibari and meet other rope lovers in the Turku Peer Rope Newcomers' Night! Shibari refers to rope bondage, and it can be decorative, meditative, sexual, technical, acrobatic, or just plain fun - in other words, just what you want! We will show the basics of rope bondage, like the single column tie, basic frictions and simple ties to help you get started.
This event is especially for newcomers to Turku Peer Rope but you are welcome to join even if you have participated before. You can be a top, bottom or both. You don't need a partner or any experience in tying to attend to this event. We also have ropes you can borrow.
Friday January 30 at 18:00: Peer Rope: Self-tying
A night dedicated for self-tying! This is an opportunity to discuss the topic, share your tips, and have a session of your own (on the floor or in the air). The theme is optional, so partnered tying is also allowed.
Friday February 13 at 18:00: Peer Rope: Basics of Rope Bondage
(More information will be posted closer to the event.) Turku Peer Rope is an event to learn shibari/ rope bondage from peer to peer. Peer Rope also has organizers who gladly get you started with your rope journey. People of all skill levels are welcome.
Friday February 27 at 18:00: Peer Rope: Rope Jam
In a rope jam there isn't peer learning part as in usual peer rope evenings. In rope jam we will tie as music plays in the backround and have fun.
We will have the opening of the evening together as always and practical info will be given during the opening circle. There is plenty of time for negotiations and finding someone to tie with, so you are welcome to the evening alone or with others!
Friday March 13 at 18:00: Peer Rope: Hojo cuff
What can you make using a hojo cuff? Well, almost anything! We'll learn how to make the structure called hojo cuff or inline single column tie, and explore applying it to different sorts of ties. Beginner friendly. You can take part alone or with a partner.
