Turku Peer Rope
Shibari in Turku, Finland
Shibari (and kinbaku) is a type of rope bondage. Rope bondage may include erotic elements, emphasize the creation of aesthetic ties, have a meditative focus, involve painplay, or be something completely different. Just what you want it to be! Turku peer rope organizes shibari events, where participants can learn from each other, and workshops, where experienced practicioners teach different techniques, patterns, and other essential skills.
Upcoming Events
Peer Rope
Friday November 28 at 18:00: Peer Rope: Hug harness
In this themed event, we'll explore a variation of the well-known Lief's hug harness. In this harness, the arms are tied in front, across the chest. Lief's hug harness can be used in suspension, and the suspension line can be attached to the back, front, or side. The harness suits many body categorys and is considered a good and safe option for those who are starting out with suspension.
Friday December 12 at 18:00: Peer Rope: Pre-Christmas Rope Jam
Pre-Christmas Rope Jam: this time we are having a rope jam, with a special theme! In a rope jam there isn't a peer learning part as in usual peer rope evenings. In rope jam we will tie as music plays in the backround and have fun.
Workshops
Sunday November 30 at 13:00: The Basics of (Semi-)Suspension
In this workshop we learn the basics of suspension techniques by tying in semisuspension. In semisuspension the tied person will have some of their body hanging and supported by the ropes and some of their weight resting on the floor. This workshop is good for example for those who have been tying on floor level for a fairly long time and would like to add new options and challenges into their play.
Sunday December 7 at 13:00: The Basics of Predicament Bondage Workshop
In predicament bondage, the tied person is placed in a dilemma where they must balance between two or more uncomfortable positions. To relieve the pain or discomfort caused by the ropes, the rope bottom has to maintain the positions themself. For the rigger, this creates the opportunity to witness the gradual escalation of struggle and suffering.
Predicaments often make use of muscle fatigue and physical instability, which can evoke a wide range of emotions in the tied person: vulnerability, frustration, despair and pleasure, not to forget laughter. In this workshop, we teach the basics of floor level predicament bondage. We will focus on safer ways to create predicaments, and on how they affect both body and mind.Events last updated Thursday October 9 at 22:23
